So that was my husband featured in the news story above. He was legally blind 20/400, He had tried Rose K lenses, had intact surgery twice and his vision was only correctable to around 20/80. Reading was near to impossible for him and the internet was something of the past . He couldn't drive at night and they were threating his daytime liscense. He was enrolled in blind services, getting media on tape and was going to take classes for brail and vision impaired computer use. It was a scary and frustrating time for us. Dr. Armitage gave us hope and then gave us Matt's vision back. Words could never describe what a wonderful gift this was to us. Yeah, the scelera lenses may look a little funny and be a hassel to get in but they gave my husband his life back. I could never thank Dr. Armitage enough.

My experience with scleral lenses has been very good. They are a big improvement over my previous gas permeable lenses.

Both of my corneas had become very misshapen/distorted. So much so that even very carefully fitted Rose-K lenses were uncomfortable and failed to fully correct my vision. I was especially miserable during pollen season.

With the scleral lenses my vision correction is better and I have no discomfort from the lenses.
