
Originally from Winterset, IA Dr. Monica Brown completed her undergraduate work at the University of Iowa where she received a B.A. in Biology (with honors) as well as a Masters Degree in Orthoptics (Certified Orthoptist, C.O. – eye coordination specialist). She then received a B.S. in Vision Science and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree (also with honors) at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry in South Florida.
Dr. Brown has participated in new ocular technology research and has also done numerous humanitarian missions to underserved countries including Peru and Ecuador (she speaks fluent Spanish) where she provided thousands of eye exams and specialized care for eye diseases and glaucoma.
With over 14 years of experience Dr. Brown has the clinical training to provide you with the highest level of eye care. This includes cataract diagnosis, glaucoma treatment, and emergency eye care such as eye infections, scratched eyes, or removal of a foreign body. She is passionate about contact lenses and plans to continue to provide specialty lenses such as Scleral contact lenses. She will provide orthoptic care to children and adults that have double vision or difficulties with their binocular vision.
